Cry No More

His tears rolled down his cheeks
As he looks over his lifeless ladylove
Not sure if she can hear him
He prays aloud to the Lord above
Hoping to erase what he thinks he has done

Oh Lord take my heart from my chest
I never meant for this to happen
She is my love, the very reason I carry on
So do not take her away
Bring her back to me again

His prayer now complete
The words burn in his memory
And yet again he speaks
But his time to Brynn
The one who means the most to him?

I did not mean to have you injured
I am sorry for leaving you here
Your scars hurt me so much
But I want to be in your place
Not seeing you lying quietly now

You lie there because of my rage
Trying to follow those hoods
I could not let them hurt you
So I wanted them to feel your pain
And the tears continue to fall

Wiping his cheeks slowly
Brynn speaks to him softly
I do not blame you for this
I wish you would smile my love
And Cry no more...I am alive

The Long Road Home

She left home with tears in her eyes
On a cold winter's eve
Nearing Christmas her momma wonders why
Needing to create her new life
18 is the time to strike out on her own

She said to her daddy with a lump in her throat
I must take this step
In the kitchen she heard a plate crash
Knowing her momma will be worried
Her mind is made up

Her father said as she walked for the door
See you at Christmas
And she smiled and waved as she left
But the words he heard remain
Locked in her mind for a lifetime

The way out to the city takes you away
Remember the door is open
As you create the life you want
But most of all that same road you take out
Is also the long road home?

The Day

Is this the day
When the light shines for you
Give love a chance
To live inside of you
Giving a strength
That your heart finds anew
For this is the life
You most richly desire

Is this the day
Your walk becomes forever
Hands being held
Before the creator and loved ones
Vows are being said
As you look across to one another
You smile, holding back tears
For this is the life

Is this the day
Your little one is born
Giving more love
To that special tiny child
Growing and learning
As life goes on
You nurture the baby
For this is the life

The End of the Block

You warm up the house
With your sweet sexy smile
Creating a potion
That drives me wild

Breezing on by into the bedroom
You return in your entire splendor
Soft flesh lifting my spirits
At the end of the day

We shed our clothes
Like nudists in a colony
Leaving our cares out in the cold
Warming our hearts and lives. Tonight

Running throughout the house
Sharing natural spontaneous love
We are like two newlyweds
Living nude at the end of the block

Home for Christmas

She lies on the floor
Dreaming of her soldier
Wondering if he'll be home for Christmas
Hoping he is safe
Longing for his open arms

She smiles at a letter
Then tears roll off her face
As he tells her of his love
His desire to start a family
On the pages of a letter so happy

A phone call arrives
As she hears what she dreaded
He has been missing in action
Presumed to be dead
As the tears flow down again

A week before Christmas
No joy is to be felt
But she wonders where he is
And if he is fighting to be home
In her arms whether injured or safe

Another call, he is alive
Walked into camp
A few days after that call
Alive with prisoners of war
Happy to be going home

Tour of duty is over
He is planning his life at home
Walking in the door she smiles
As he is home
Yes home for Christmas

The Questions

She sat there sobbing softly
As I recall the days we had
When she asked me some questions
That lives inside me this day

Will you give me your heart?
For the time we love one another
Can I always count on you?
Until heaven comes calling us home

Do you want to hold me?
When the night falls upon us
Will you dry my tears?
Once sorrow settles in

Can I lean on your shoulders?
When I feel alone and weak
Will you caress my hands?
As you walk through this world with me

And as I sit by your side
To comfort your troubled mind
You have my undivided support
That will transcend every barrier

Allow me to dry those tears
To bring a smile upon your pretty face
Hold on tight as I help you now
For my love this is my goal for you

The questions I will always answer
To you as into the future
Never hesitate, ask me every time
For my heart is you're open and true
